Mission & History

The mission of the Multicultural Community Foundation (MCF) is to help people from ethnically diverse backgrounds to succeed by providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive mental health services and by connecting them to benefits and services widely available.

MCF was founded in 2009 as a nonprofit organization staffed by multi-ethnic professionals, in  response to the social and mental health needs of the growing immigrant community in theNational Capital Region. The organization, whose professional staff and volunteers are bilinguals, is committed to offer a broad range of programs focused on social, educational, health and language services geared to the unique values and characteristics of individuals and families from diverse cultures.

We help people understand and navigate American culture and organizations so they can become self-sufficient. The MCF approach is holistic, community, and family-centered.

The majority of MCF’s work is concentrated in preventive  and educational services, including programs for low income  families,  legal assistance, Preventive medicine, parenting skills and youth programs to prevent and reduce school desertion .
